"The philosophy behind the program is simple - to break the cycle of 'booklessness'. Kids who can't read become adults who can't communicate and that's a serious disadvantage in a world that operates on the written word." - Duffy Books Website

The Duffy Book Program originated in New Zealand and has since progressed to national levels. Three times per year, students are allowed to select books supplied by Scholastic catalogues to keep and to read at home. Duffy coordinators, principals, teachers, and children select the books from each catalogue. Funds to purchase books are supplied by the program, as well as by local company sponsors (see below for a list). Please visit the Duffy Books Website for more information. |
See how much we LOVE getting new books!
