BrainPop is an online site that allows you to view short movie clips about a wide variety of subjects.  Once you have watched the movie you can take a quiz to see how much you know.  This is a great site for reviewing concepts learned in the classroom.

Ask at the Circulation Desk for the username and password.  PLEASE make sure you log out of BrainPop when you are finished.

Online Encyclopedias

Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia contains 38,000 quick reference articles, periodicals, pictures, maps, flags, fact boxes, videos and soundtracks, dictionaries and thesaurus.  This is a great alternative to a print encyclopedia .

World Book Online has several parts.  The online reference center contains an Encyclopedia, atlas and dictionary.  The New York State Resource Guide provides links to resources related to New York State.  Also included on this site are information an current news topics, information on events which happened on this date in history and imaginary news sites from Ancient Times, The Middle Ages and Modern Times.

Health Reference Center  has more than 700 sources and provides access to full text and images of respected medical journals, consumer health magazines, newsletters, pamphlets, newspaper articles and reference books.
