Instructional Coaching Philosophy
Penn Yan Central School District subscribes to the premise that our new and veteran teachers benefit from consistent coaching and support to meet the varied demands of education today. Our Staff Developers assist the staff toward improving sound educational strategies and philosophies, which in turn promote more effective teaching and learning in the classroom. The Staff Developers are involved in planning trainings and workshops for our teachers. The primary goals of these workshops are ensuring both staff retention, continued development, and implementation of successful classroom techniques.

Staff Development
With all the changes in education, our instructional staff need the opportunities to improve their teaching techniques and understand the new mandates that are in constant flux. Penn Yan Central School district uses the data and information we collect to design cohesive workshops and trainings to meet the needs of our staff. In the past few years the Instruction and Staff Development Office has implemented extensive training on the Common Core Standards, the new APPR system, Data Driven Instruction, Co-teaching, Literacy and other teaching and learning trainings.
