Congratulations to Kayla Anderson, 1 of 2 winners for the 2019 Yates County Distinguished Youth Award. This award is presented to a Yates County resident between 11-21 that has shown outstanding or extraordinary contribution to community or family. Kayla was nominated by Patti Harling and Erin Johnson for being a leader among her peers while being dedicated to academic excellence and having a positive community impact via various projects and volunteer efforts. Kayla, a Senior at PYA, is a member of NHS, Rotary Interact, Class Treasurer, Yearbook Editor, VP of Art Club, Band Council Treasurer, International Club President, and a Youth Rep for Milo Center Methodist Church. The letter of recommendation made it apparent that Kayla brings a positive impact and our community is better for having her in it.
