English 11 Students Recognized by Walt Whitman Birthplace Association

Several of our English 11 students were recently recognized by the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association for their poetry.

For this project, students wrote poems about important themes. These included connecting with others and the world around them, showing patience and persistence, and finding hope, purpose or strength during hard times. Through their writing, students shared their feelings, ideas and points of view.

The following students were recognized in the classroom anthology: Levi Fisher, Michael Gigliotti, Aidan Green, Simone Greer, Dustin Hand, Kaden Hoke, Analece Kopcecky, Alexander L., Eric Lockett, Carter MacKerchar, Ti’Jai Moorer, Joshua Morse, Wyatt Orr, Ayva Peterson, Ameina Samatulski, Avianna Saylor and Alyssa Smith.

Congratulations to our students and all of this year’s Student Poetry Contest winners!
