For the second year in a row, the Parent Teacher Group (PTG) raffled off an exciting school drop-off as part of the Penn Yan Elementary Open House.
Students Lara P. and Noah P. were escorted in style on Tuesday, September 29, Lara in a Penn Yan police vehicle, and Noah in a Penn Yan fire truck. Classmates, students, and staff members greeted their arrival by lining the bus loop at the Elementary School and cheering them on as the vehicles circled the loop a couple of times, elevating the excitement.
Complete with horns, lights and sirens, both students were smiling ear to ear as they made their final approach to the school entrance. Assisting their arrival was elementary school principal, Sarah Horton.
The raffle was organized by the Parent Teacher Group in conjunction with the Penn Yan Elementary school’s Open House on September 24. The Parent Teacher Group thanks the Penn Yan Police and Fire Departments for their willingness to participate, and all the families that supported the fundraiser which will help make more events and celebrations possible throughout the school year.
The Tuesday morning commute was truly something special for Lara and Noah, and one they won’t soon forget!
